Higher yield
Making briquettes from aluminium shavings gives a greater yield – depending on the alloy
and operating conditions saving – saving 50 to 200 € per ton. (prices from 2007). Unlike
loose shavings, briquettes have a predictable and low residual moisture content, which is
an advantage when marketing them.
Extration/Regeneration of clean lubricant
Cooling and lubricant fluids are pressed out during the briquette-making process and
pumped back directly into the filtration system.
Volume reduced by up to twenty times
The shape of the briquettes gives a smaller surface area than with loose shavings –
during smelting there is a burn-off of only 3-5%. Energy costs are also reduced.
Cutting transport and handling costs
Processing at the point of origin and greatly reducing volume results in the production of a very light, easy-to-handle secondary material.
